Our Featured Day Trip . . . Fort De Soto Park Although Madeira Beach offers several miles of fabulous beaches right at your door step, a few miles to the south of our Condo is Fort De Soto Park, offering 900 unspoiled acres and seven miles of beaches. Fort De Soto Park's beach has been rated #1 in the nation by Dr. Beach. A unique area made up of five islands, the park features a fort built during the Spanish-American War on the largest of the islands, Mullet Key. Two fishing piers, camping areas, a concession stand, bathroom facilities and covered picnic shelters are available. Fort De Soto Park also offers a popular biking and skating trail as well as rental facilities for canoes, kayaks and bicycles. There is an 85 cents toll on the bridges leading into the park. This Park is a must see! For more information, see PinellasCounty.org

In Florida, no person under 14 years of age may operate any personal water craft (PWC). The person renting the PWC must be at least 18 years of age. Vendors may have additional restrictions. See the Florida Boater's Law for more information.
Fishing License. Generally, a salt water recreational fishing license is required except when fishing off a licensed fishing pier, such as Redington Beach's Pier, or from a licensed commercial fishing boat. Children under 16 years of age do not need a salt water fishing license. Fishing licenses are available at bait shops and sporting goods stores. Generally, fishing in fresh water also requires a license.
